Our
Story

Get to Know Us

Active Adventure provides outdoor excursions to individuals in all stages of substance use disorder recovery. Through nature therapy, we help to build the healthy skills needed to maintain long-term sobriety. With group activities such as hiking, camping, and kayaking, our adventurers learn teamwork, build self-reliance, and gain confidence. Our peer led model allows individuals who have successfully navigated several years of recovery to interact and build meaningful relationships with those in the early stages.

Core Values

Connecting people to the spirit of adventure, the recovery community, and their inner selves through fellowship, nature, and fitness.

Fellowship

Fellowship

Fellowship is a crucial component of recovery from addiction. It provides a supportive community of individuals who understand the challenges of addiction and can offer guidance and encouragement. Through fellowship, individuals can build meaningful relationships, develop a sense of belonging, and find hope for a brighter future. Joining a recovery fellowship can be a life-changing decision that leads to lasting sobriety and personal growth.

Nature

Nature

Nature has a profound impact on our well-being, especially when it comes to recovery. Being surrounded by natural beauty can help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, while also promoting healing. Whether it's a walk in the park, a hike in the mountains, or swimming in the ocean, spending time in nature can be a powerful tool in the recovery process.

Fitness

Fitness

Regular exercise and physical activity can play a crucial role in addiction. Engaging in fitness activities can help reduce stress, improve mood, and boost self-esteem. It can also provide a healthy outlet for emotions and help individuals develop a sense of discipline and routine. Incorporating fitness into a recovery plan can lead to a more balanced and fulfilling life.
